Columbia SC Mommy Blogger Tribe gathers monthly and February 1st, 2020 we gathered in Lexington, SC at AR Workshop.

Where do I start? Please don’t tell the owner (Ashley a woman owned biz btw!) and shame on me for thinking this, but when I agreed to this event and signed up for and chose my project online I honestly thought all we were doing was going to slap a stencil on some wood and paint it. I know I know. . . You can laugh! This experience was so much more than that! You begin with a plain piece (or pieces) of wood (depending on the project you choose) and you sand the wood, some nailed or screwed pieces together with power tools (the facial expressions from some of the Mamas were priceless!) With guidance from the staff (we couldn’t have done it without them!) we chose stain or paint, the technique, the color to paint the stencil, we needed to carefully glue our stencil on and use a small tool to peel off certain pieces. Let it dry then remove it at the end. This process took a few hours, but by the end you definitely feel like you’ve tapped into your inner Joanna Gaines or Martha Stewart for sure!

I may have complained a few times about how long it was taking (to be honest I’m not much of a DIYer) but it was the perfect event for a ladies night out (they also host date nights, birthday parties, office parties, etc) And I always like to try everything once! It was definitely harder than one of those Paint & Pour nights but you leave feeling proud of your work!

We all got a bit hungry but luckily Clean Juice of Lexington (a woman owned biz btw!) catered our event, which was the perfect brain food for this tough task at hand! They brought us organic salads, acai bowls and fresh pressed juice. Plus I learned that if you download their app you get a $5 credit!

If you would like to try out a project at AR Workshop Lexington.

Visit their website and use code HEATHER10 at checkout for 10% off your project! This discount is good through April! Let me know when you go and I may come with you! (I just need to choose an easier project but my home could definitely use the decor!)

Photos taken by the incredible Maddy Eccles Photography find her on Instagram & Facebook!

We will definitely be back to do another project and stop by Clean Juice for brain food! We recommend you do the same! As the Managing Member of this Mommy Blogger Tribe I am full of so much joy gathering these women together, to inspire them and to cultivate friendship. We support one another and our relationships are just getting stronger each time we get together! I can’t wait to see these ladies again!
